Patti Abramson offers her clients effective, customized assistance to resolve their family law and divorce issues through mediation, consultation, cooperative negotiation and collaborative divorce methods.  Divorce is difficult and life changing but it does not have to be devastating.  By working together to create solution driven settlements, Ms. Abramson helps her clients construct lasting agreements in a non-adversarial, supportive environment. 

Ms. Abramson is certified by the California State Bar as a Family Law Specialist.  She has dedicated her legal career to the important family interests that are affected by divorce and separation.  Ms. Abramson is an experienced family law mediator who expertly guides parties through the legal aspects of their relationship transitions with respect and compassion. She is certified in the collaborative divorce process which was developed to provide couples and families with an alternative to the traditional litigated divorce process.  A collaborative team is comprised of two attorneys, 2 divorce coaches who assist the couple to develop constructive communication tools and provide emotional support, a financial specialist to gather and analyze the couple's financial information and assist the parties in making informed decisions about child and spousal support and the division of marital assets, and a child specialist to develop an effective parenting plan and healthy family communication practices.  All negotiations take place in a supportive, non-adversarial environment.

For over a decade, Super Lawyers magazine has named Ms. Abramson to its list of the Top 5% of Lawyers in Northern California. Ms. Abramson is a member of the American Bar Association and its Family Law section, she is a sustaining Fellow of the American Bar Foundation; a member of the California State Bar and its Family Law section; the Collaborative Practice of the East Bay; the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, the Alameda County Bar Association and its Family Law section, the Contra Costa County Bar Association and its Family Law section, and a member and Past President of the Eastern Alameda County Bar Association.
